It is getting hard to get the lead for our product or services right? And there are many platforms like social media competing with the traditional media. Oh my god! How do I get the quality leads that can be converted to prospective customers? This might be the most unanswered question that going through in your mind.

Ok what he is saying about digital marking? I know that this would be your next question that jumps into your mind. Then it is good.
Marketing is the ever green area and there is no end for it until the customer needs are there. But what happens most of the time, we would fail in marketing and get discouraged by the results would it true? right. Here you need to know an important point that marketing is a big picture.
If you are shooting with darts to the inner circle, it is not always guaranteed to put the dart exactly in the inner circle. But it is also true that the chances of hitting the dart will improve if we practice well and depends on how many number of times we make the attempt. I hope you got my point.
Now link the above said analogy with the marketing, you need to pitch the sales with more number of leads and then only it is possible to sell your product from the group of lead into some prospect customers.
Is it hard? Actually no while you are doing it with the marketing or sales funnel, for an example: you are selling a clothing product door to door and if you want to make the sales here is the estimation of how many doors you need to knock…
100 doors knocked and 50 people welcome you, then out of which only 20 people will be interest, but somehow you can convince the 10 people to buy your product definitely. But the problem is knocking the 100 doors needs the planning.
This is a kind of sales funnel that is what I am talking about. The numbers will come down from 100 leads to 10 actual customers. You should be motivated enough to knock the 100 doors first. Most often the sales person entering the marketing field get frustrated as a person said “No” to his product.
You know “This is the psychology of people with poor emotional intelligence”. A marketer like you should have the strong mindset that is winning mindset. That is not frustrated after 5 to 10 customers say “NO”. If people are saying “No”, then you should think about the target that you fixed as leads for your product.
This is where the marketing funnel that our marketing experts are talking about. So what is this funnel stuff? It is simple that it is shown in below picture
Attention, Interest, desire and action – these are the steps in traditional funnel system and it works as the way of getting attention from the target people and they will be the leads. Once the people are aware that you are providing some product or services the people will not buy it immediately.
Yes, this is another challenge for the marketer. The people are basically afraid of trying new things and so here we need to fix a magnet. So tell me what the work of a magnet?
It is simple that it attracts the iron particles right!. Likewise, the potential leads will be attracted to your product or services. But don’t rush, and they still are not the buyers and so they are in need of trust. It might be someone tells that your products are good to consume, or someone trying on the spot feeling delighted and other people get this as signal.
Have you ever noticed in a restaurant that most of the people will order for the food item that is new to them, when another person actually ordered for it? This is the kind of people behavior. This stage of funnel is interest.
After the person is interested in the sales, then It should be converted into desire. This step is easy as you can kindle the desire inside the person by temptation. May be give a trial for the people to touch and feel.
In a mobile showroom, you might have noticed that the sales people will have a product unboxed and that will not be sold. But this is the one product that makes the sale. Since the people will build trust by touching and feeling it. In case of the services, the trial version or like test drive in car would make the customer to involve in action that is the final stage where the buyer will take action in buying your product.
So far, we have talked about the traditional sales funnel and my digital mentor told me that he has created a new type of sales funnel that is CATT – content, attention, trust and transaction. You might wonder that both were same. But no. both of them is not same.
In digital marketing, content is the first step and content is the magnet for attracting people and then attention and then trust is most important factor. Unlike the traditional funnel, trust making in online is not easy.
Just imagine that someone asking you to subscribe for the online movie services and you don’t even know the name of the company ever. But it is in case of Amazon prime or Netflix video streaming services offering that same services. Now you tell me what is the difference? TRUST
Once the trust is built then the customer will definitely buy the product online. In the fore coming blogs I will share how we can build trust and how we can attach the magnet at the top of the sales funnel in digital marketing.
